What you receive
-
A unique Australian Golf Handicap number (Golf ID) recognised nationally through Golf Australia’s handicapping network.
-
Connection to the official system that updates as your scores are entered from competition and eligible social rounds.
-
Ongoing access to your current handicap and playing record via participating club and online portals.
- Download the Golf Australia app to track your own performance and connect with fellow golfers.
Benefits for social golfers
-
Level games with mates: Handicaps allow golfers of different abilities to compete fairly, so higher-handicap players receive strokes against lower-handicap players.
-
Make every round meaningful: Submitting eligible social scores means every casual game can contribute to your handicap and show how your game is trending over time.
-
More fun side games: Handicaps make skins, stableford, and match-play bets more balanced and enjoyable for the whole group.
Benefits for competition golf
-
Access to competitions: An official handicap is commonly required to enter club comps, open days, leagues and many organised events in Australia.
-
Fairer leaderboards: Handicap-adjusted scoring lets players of varied skill levels have a genuine chance to win or place in net events.
-
Clear performance goals: Watching your handicap move over time provides a simple way to measure improvement and set realistic targets for your practice.
Who this is ideal for
-
New golfers wanting a recognised starting handicap and a simple way to track progress without the pressure of playing in club competitions.
-
Social players who want their regular games to “count” and open up access to official events.
-
Returning golfers needing a current Golf Australia–linked handicap number without joining a traditional club straight away (where applicable through approved providers).
How it works (high level)
-
Purchase this product and complete the brief registration form at check out.
-
Your details are used to set up or connect your Golf Australia handicap profile through an approved handicapping channel.
-
Once active, your number can be used at participating clubs and events to verify and maintain your official handicap.
How do I "record" my scores
-
If you're playing at your local public course, ask if they can submit your post round score as part of their daily handicapping process.
-
If you're playing socially with your mates and you want to keep your score "private". Simply complete a local scorecard, make sure to reflect your name and Golf Link ID on the card, sign your card and take a photo.
-
Submit your card to customer.support@theagptour.com and your score will be registered. Your official handicap will only calculate after submitting 3 x 18-hole rounds or 6 x 9-hole rounds.
Conditions:
Your golf link ID will remain active for the duration of your active subscription.
Your subscription will be based on a weekly recurring cycle.
